Luxury Vinyl Tile and Planks (LVT)– LVT tiles and planks often offer a less expensive alternative to ceramic and porcelain tile along with hardwood. Some of the more decorative tiles resemble ceramic and can even be grouted with a non staining acrylic grout! They are also warmer under foot and won’t crack like traditional tile if something heavy is dropped on it.
Luxury Vinyl Planks (LVP) offer a wide variety of styles, colors and textures that resemble hardwood without the maintenance. Many LVP Planks offer floating click together installation and are even WATERPROOF!
If you are looking for the beauty of hardwood without the expense or maintenance, then laminate is for you! Perhaps there are other circumstances that make laminate a more sensible choice over hardwood. In most cases laminate can be installed above, on or below grade. It can be installed over concrete, plywood or partical board without the need for expensive glues or an additional layer of plywood sub floor.
Even though laminate resembles hardwood, it is made up of a combination of special resins, a special fiber core, print pictures and a special wear layer to resist scratching.
The laminate wear layer is especially great for active households with children and pets. Maintaining your laminate floor is easy as well. No special waxes, polishes or sanding and finishing. And with today’s “click” technology, if a board is damaged, it’s as simple as un-clicking and re-clicking!
Today’s laminates come in a variety of finishes and sizes. From traditional strip plank to exotic hardwoods! Flush joints and beveled edges! Embossed finish or hand scraped! The possibilities are almost endless.
